Thoughtfully Crafted Residential Landscapes
T.C. Gardens is a full-service design/build studio, based out of Austin, TX, specialized in creating exterior landscaping for your home. We combine a deep understanding of native Texas plants with a desire to create inspired spaces.
We provide landscape design services based upon the scope of your project. Dreamed and then drawn by hand, our projects range in size and budget. Our services include plant selection, garden infrastructure (pathways, retaining walls, garden beds), irrigation, drainage, pergolas, fencing and garden lighting.
Our Process
-
A successful project begins with creating a strong relationship. In our initial consultation, we’ll discuss your needs and budget. Developing a strong understanding of your vision, we’ll first create a mood board to create a common language. Our approach can be tailored to time of year and phased to match your budget.
-
With a clear vision agreed upon, we’ll create a detailed master plan that includes plant selections, material options, and the infrastructure needed (retaining walls, pathways, stone, irrigation, drainage, lighting, etc.). Yes, we hand draw all of our designs and they are yours to keep.
-
We pride ourselves in our detailed knowledge of Texas native plants – that will both thrive in our climate and are sustainable to our limited water supply that goes beyond basic xeriscaping. Our approach is to both provide texture and variety that’s personal to each installation. And we only source our plants from the best Texas growers.
-
Our spaces are well crafted and built to last. We use the best quality soil, wood, stone and steel to create modern designs that compliment the plants selected. Our services can also include hardscaping, lighting and custom woodwork.
Some of Our Residential Work
-
House in the Trees
When you’re presented with something as beautiful as a heritage Live Oak tree on a lot, you must embrace it. We framed the design of this tiered backyard garden around this grand old Oak to create a lush garden of shade-tolerant tropical plants.
-
Castle on the Hill
Perched on a hill overlooking Pease Park, this unique Austin home demanded a landscape as grand as its towering turret. Previously an overgrown hillside of weeds, we transformed the front yard of this house into a tiered garden with many personalized details.
-
Cube on the Corner
A modernist house in a small subdivision of similar homes, the client wished to make their home stand-out from the others on the block – which we did with an eye towards water-wise landscapes and an appreciation for xeriscaping.
